This problem to an extent is eleminated from winkeyfinder 1.72, you should download this or officekeyFinder.You should get this error as Winkeyfinder does not understand where digitalproductID is stored in Registery, to find and decode key for you in office2000.
In that case try and find DigitalProductID, where it is stored. I'm currently working on this a way to get view/change office 2000 keys just like winkeyfinder does for office xp, 2003.
